T32 Postdoctoral Application 2024

Postdoctoral Candidates – Year 24 (September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2025)

The UW Cardiovascular Research Center’s Training Program in Translational Cardiovascular Science (TPTCS) announces the availability of postdoctoral fellow trainee positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for individuals whose research interests align with cardiovascular science. This is a federally funded (NIH/NHLBI) T32 training program. Postdoctoral positions are available for both post-MD and post-PhD candidates. Start dates for postdoctoral appointments are flexible, beginning on or after September 1, 2024. Funding may be available for a second year, depending on availability of funds and evidence of research progress.

The UW Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) houses a wide range of cardiovascular science research. The focus areas of this training program are heart failure/contractility, ion channels/arrhythmias and vascular biology/atherosclerosis.

Candidates must be nominated by a trainer in the TPTCS or faculty member affiliated with the CVRC. Conversely, trainees with interests in cardiovascular research may encourage their supervisors to apply to become a mentor/trainer in the program. External applicants interested in the program should contact prospective mentors listed on the TPTCS website along with other important information: https://cvrc.wisc.edu/training-program/.

Trainees must be a citizen or a noncitizen national (link explaining this status) of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time of appointment to be considered for this training grant. Members of underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply (link to the NIH notice identifying underrepresented populations in the U.S. Biomedical, Clinical, Behavioral and Social Sciences Research Enterprise).
