Training Specific to Predoctoral (PhD) Trainees

Training for predoctoral trainees in the Training Program in Translational Cardiovascular Science is for PhD graduate students who wish to obtain basic research training in an environment dedicated to translational cardiovascular research. Predoctoral trainees maintain the course and thesis requirements of their degree granting programs and are expected to devote full time to graduate study and research and to make satisfactory progress toward a PhD degree.

In addition, trainees must fulfill the requirements of the Training Program in Translational Cardiovascular Science. Students with limited background in physiology are required to audit the portion of Principles of Human Physiology, Course 720, related to the cardiovascular system, in the Medical School Curriculum (second semester). Students with a background in physiology are encouraged to audit Cardiovascular Pathophysiology, Medical Sciences 706, a fall semester course.
